If we search for a definition about what human is according to biology, the first thing will come up is Hominidae. Which can be explained as The Hominidae, whose members are known as great apes or hominids, are a taxonomic family of primates that includes seven extant species in four genera: Pongo, the Bornean and Sumatran orangutan; Gorilla, the eastern and western gorilla; Pan, the common chimpanzee and the bonobo; and Homo, the human (and though not extant, the near-human ancestors and relatives.
This is what you’ll find on Google. However what if we could give a biological definition to what a human being is depending his actions not just only socially or specie evolutionary, after a deep thought then the proper answer should definitely be, a parasite.
According to a simple biological explanation, an organism that lives on or in another organism, deriving benefit from living on or in that other organism, while not contributing towards that other organism sufficiently to cover the cost to that other organism. (Doesn’t picture us exactly?)
Let’s put an example to that. Human and Earth. Obviously Earth is the other organism. The Host. The one with sun, plants, water and so many beneficial parts contributing to a human’s healthy life in many different ways. (Or it was like that before mankind’s technological evolution?)
So we take advantage. We triumph. Start evolve in different prospects. We don’t stop, since part of our nature is to be unpleased with what we own.
In our try to make things as we like and fit our needs, we pollute. Mainly we unbalance the pace of the other organism. Host’s life.
Sometimes a parasite can cause a serious damage to the host. In our case, We. Humans have already started to prepare for the worst and explore universe in order to discover another hostile planet as earth. (it seems like The 100 senario might come to life one day)
We are the imperious specie and perhaps we are not only because we have the kind of mind that even we haven’t understand it yet, but also we are the worst kind of parasite. We most of the times are dangerous for the planet we use as home and for ourselves.
